Important Note about Travel & Accommodation
The festival does not support the “travel and visa expenses” of contestants living outside Lebanon and wishing to attend the festival. The organizers might, however, be able to share with the contestants a list of travel funds that they can apply to.
The festival does not support travel insurance, it’s each contestant’s responsibility to make the necessary travel insurance before coming to Lebanon. The BISFF can only offer basic first aid and medical care where needed.
Due to limited resources, the festival can only cover the accommodation of applicants who do not reside in Lebanon. The hotel choice and information will be shared by the organizers to the concerned contestants. Should contestants choose to stay in a hotel different than the one provided by the organizers, it is then their sole responsibility to cover the related costs.
Lebanese contestants wishing to stay in Baalbeck for the full duration of the festival are invited to check the Live Love Baalbeck page for some hotel addresses.
The Official Selections will be announced in August.
Contestants will be notified via e-mail; each contestant will be asked to send us his Full HD (1920 – 1080) film via mail (regular mail/express mailing services /or/ by uploading it via Wetransfer/Dropbox) or by simply dropping it by hand (for directors residing in Lebanon).
The mailing address will only be sent to the accepted contestants and communicated by e-mail to them.
The awards will be announced during the festival. The BIFF will disseminate five awards as follows:
Best Short Lebanese Documentary
Best Short Lebanese Film
Best Short Documentary
Best Short Animated Film
Best Short Film
Note on Security
Baalbeck has a very welcoming and safe environment, and during summertime, Baalbeck welcomes a lot of tourists and is guarded by national policemen all day/night long. However, the festival will share with contestants a security note to advise them on some important considerations.
On another hand, the festival will organize several walking tours to discover the city with the contestants. The contestants are also encouraged to check the Live Love Baalbeck page on our website.
